Me in SW Colorado

Hello!

I'm Alisa Zuniga.

Formerly known as The Elevated Exposure, this new chapter reflects the evolution of both my photography and my creative voice. As my work has grown and become more personal, it felt natural to place my name alongside the images I create. While the name has changed, the passion behind the lens remains the same.

I am a landscape and wildlife photographer based in Colorado, drawn to telling visual stories that feel relatable, inspiring, and shaped by the landscapes I explore. With a lifelong love for art, design, and creative expression, I discovered my passion for photography while pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts after purchasing my first point-and-shoot camera. What began as a class assignment quickly grew into a meaningful creative practice, shaped through hands-on experience, exploration, and collaboration with other creatives.
Born in Iowa, my love for the mountains came later in life, after college in 2013. As an outdoor and fitness enthusiast, my journey has led me on countless adventures, but everything shifted the moment I stood atop Grays Peak—my first Colorado 14er. That experience ignited a profound connection to the mountains and a desire to explore deeper. Since then, I have summited 33 of Colorado’s 58 fourteeners, spent extensive time in the rugged landscapes of southwestern Colorado, backpacked through the awe-inspiring Grand Teton National Park, and traveled internationally to Iceland, the land of fire and ice in 2017.Fueled by a passion for exploration and a strong bond with nature, I use my lens to express gratitude, respect, and wonder for the places I’ve experienced and photographed. Through sharing my work, I hope to tell stories that reflect my journey, inspire others to explore, and deepen our collective appreciation for the natural world.

My goal is to create impactful images that evoke emotional or spiritual responses images that stir memories of places you may have visited or inspire a longing to explore somewhere new. Guided by a deep respect for the natural world, I approach each project with intention, honoring both the environment and the stories embedded within the landscapes I photograph.
